Pelican Bay Lifestyle Guide 2026

More About Pelican Bay The delivery of “Pelican Bay: A History of Our Home in Paradise” in January 2025 was the realization of a dream that was years in the making. Pelican Bay is so unique, and its founders had extraordinary vision that remains with us today, making our home one of the premier beachfront communities in the nation. The need to preserve the Pelican Bay story was discussed numerous times over the years but failed to gain traction until a new project was initiated in January 2023, establishing a Pelican Bay History Book Subcommittee under the Member Policies & Relations Committee. After gaining approval of our charter by the Pelican Bay Foundation Board of Directors, our team — Chair Nancy Bicket, Tim Corcoran, Beth Flaherty, Foundation Liaison Arlene Harper, and Kris Sinnenberg — set out to find an author and publisher. Award-winning writer Harriet Howard Heithaus and local company Barringer Publishing were enlisted. Nearly two years of hard work ensued, with much research, writing, editing, A History of Our Home in Paradise Mission accomplished! Go beyond its classic cover and delve into what this coffee table-sized history book reveals. It is well-researched and has unbeatable photos. The narrative is a pure joy to read thanks to Harriet Howard Heithaus. We were owners in The Heron at 5555 Heron Point Drive in Pelican Bay from 2003 to 2024. We so appreciated the chance to receive a solid account of the early history of Pelican Bay as well as to confirm our experiences and relive those marvelous days. Put aside any concerns that you might have regarding how a history book might be. This history is alive and a treasure as a keepsake. ~ Steve and Annice Gregerson Former Residents, The Heron at Pelican Bay Pelican Bay Lifestyle Guide 2026 112 PelicanBay.org
