What’s the basic information I need to know about tennis? • Tennis Facilities may only be used by persons holding a Foundation-issued card and their accompanied guests. Persons holding guest cards may not bring guests. • We offer two locations for tennis: » The South Tennis Center is located at The Commons and has 10 courts. » The North Tennis Center is located at the Community Center and has eight lighted courts. •All courts are hydro (subirrigated) courts. • Court reservations are requested through our computerized Chelsea reservation system or by contacting the pro shop. » Chelsea may be accessed via PelicanBay.org (click on ‘Amenities’ and then on ‘Tennis.’ Here, you will find a link to Chelsea court requests). » Full Chelsea reservation system instructions are available at both tennis centers as well as on the website. • All players are required to check in at the pro shop before play to swipe their Member ID card, guest pass or pay a tennis guest fee. • Two pro shops are available for your use, one at each location, and they offer: » Logo wear » Racquets » Footwear and accessories » Racquet re-gripping and restringing services • Appropriate tennis attire is required. Beach clothing, cutoffs, sports bras, bathing suits and men’s tank tops are not permitted. • Only tennis shoes are allowed on the courts. • Children under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult when on the court. BALL MACHINES We have tennis ball machines at both the North and South tennis courts which are available for reservation with a nominal fee. INSTRUCTION I need to sharpen my tennis skills.
