Racquet Sports Pelican Bay is one of the most active racquets communities in Southwest Florida. What’s the basic information I need to know about tennis? • Racquets facilities may only be used by people holding a Foundationissued card and their accompanied guests. People holding guest cards may not bring guests. • We offer two locations for tennis: n The South Racquets Center is located at The Commons and has 10 courts. n The North Racquets Center is located at the Community Center and has eight lighted courts. • All courts are hydro (sub-irrigated) courts. • Court reservations are requested through our computerized Chelsea reservation system or by contacting the Pro Shop. n Chelsea may be accessed in your member profile via PelicanBay.org (Move cursor over the “Active Lifestyle” drop-down tab, then over the “Racquets” drop-down tab and click “Tennis Reservation” or Group Tennis Reservation.” You will be directed to Chelsea court requests). n Full Chelsea reservation system instructions are available at both racquets centers. • All players are required to check in at the Pro Shop before play to swipe their Member ID card, guest pass or pay a tennis guest fee. • Two pro shops are available for your use, one at each location, and they offer: n Logo wear n Racquets n Footwear and accessories n Racquet re-gripping and restringing services • Appropriate racquet sports attire is required. Beach clothing, cutoffs, sports bras, bathing suits and men’s tank tops are not permitted. • Only racquet sports-designed shoes are allowed on the courts. • Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult when on the court. Ball Machines We have tennis ball machines at both the North and South racquets courts, which are available for reservation for a nominal fee. Instruction I need to sharpen my tennis skills.
