Pelican Bay Member Guide 2025

The Pelican Bay Property Owners Association (PBPOA) is a recognized member organization of the Pelican Bay Foundation (PBF) and functions as an effective watchdog for the benefit of the community. It is a voluntary group of resident owners organized to provide an effective concerted voice for the residents of Pelican Bay and in doing so, works closely with other Pelican Bay member organizations to keep you informed on issues that can potentially affect the quality of life, property values and interests of our community. The PBPOA is the oldest organization in Pelican Bay, founded by early Pelican Bay visionaries in 1984 for the purpose of keeping a watchful eye on the developer, Westinghouse Corporation (later WCI), as it developed the master planned project extending from Seagate Drive to Vanderbilt Beach Road. The goal then was to be sure Westinghouse (WCI) did nothing to negatively affect Pelican Bay’s quality of life or property values. Early residents were well aware that we had something very special in our Pelican Bay community and wanted to ensure that residents’ interests and the developer’s interests stayed aligned. As an important cog in Pelican Bay, the PBPOA monitors all Pelican Bay influencers and their actions. Examples are the PBF Board meetings, Board Committee meetings, the Pelican Bay Services Division (PBSD) and their subcommittees, recognized and organized groups like the Mangrove Action Group (MAG), Women’s League and Men’s Coffee. The organization also monitors Collier County Commissioners, especially our District 2 Commissioner and, when necessary, Collier County committee meetings and advisory boards (such as Parks and Recreation and the Coastal Advisory committees). We consistently keep you informed with timely e-blasts addressing current Pelican Bay issues, events, challenges, situations and information that you may find relevant and actionable. Our Board meetings are open to all members and are sometimes offered via Zoom. Occasionally, we combine social events with our meetings to have a little fun, too! The PBPOA organizes and facilitates significant ‘Listen & Learn’ seminars that serve as an educational platform for members to engage and become knowledgeable in matters of importance and interest to the community. Recent seminar topics included ‘All About Insurance’ – post Hurricane Ian and the Surfside collapse; ‘All Things Pelican Bay Property Owners Association Be part of something special … and have a little fun, too!
