Strategic Planning Committee The responsibility of the Strategic Planning Committee is to develop and maintain an ongoing three-year strategic plan including a community master plan to ensure realization of the mission, vision and values of the Pelican Bay Foundation. The Strategic Planning Committee is the keeper of the mission, vision and values statements for Pelican Bay and can recommend updates as necessary. The scope of the three-year strategic plan involves the natural environment, member services, branding and visual appeal, facilities and amenities, activities and programming, infrastructure, external relationships and financial approach. The strategic plan will be comprised of three key components: 1. Goals and objectives 2. Strategies and tactics 3. Implementation plan Progress will be tracked on a semiannual basis and the entire plan will be reviewed and revised annually. An in- depth review will occur every three years. Legal Ad Hoc Committee This ad hoc committee was formed by the Foundation Board to review and report on the following issues: • Any litigation matters • Legal aspects of future development and redevelopment within Pelican Bay • Consideration of any new land use or alternative governing structures impacting Pelican Bay • Legislative or regulatory changes that could affect Pelican Bay • Other matters that the Board may direct the committee to consider during the term of its existence • Interact with expert outside counsel to advise on specific issues Media Infrastructure Ad Hoc Committee The Media Infrastructure Ad Hoc Committee reviews the media infrastructure within Pelican Bay with a view of the future. The Committee will explore options available with the goal of providing media services at competitive costs that reflect current and next-generation technologies as well as maintain a working relationship with senior management of the selected provider to review the performance of the provider, its responsiveness to Pelican Bay residents and compliance with contractual obligations. The Committee’s duties include: • Investigate alternatives for TV infrastructure (broadcast, subscription and streaming). • Investigate alternatives for telephone infrastructure (analog, digital and IP telephony). • Investigate alternatives for internet infrastructure (megabit, gigabit, wired and wireless). • Learn what other communities are doing for their media infrastructure services. • Compare construction, monthly, annual and bulk costs of various alternatives, inclusive of regulatory fees and taxes. • Monitor provider performance with regard to service quality, customer service, responsiveness and meeting contractual obligations. • During the contract period, maintain an awareness of technology/competitive trends that threaten to reduce the competitiveness or effectiveness of the current offering. • Be an advocate for the community and Foundation in dispute resolution with the provider, if necessary. 37 Pelican Bay Member Guide 2025 PelicanBay.org
